President Donald Trump's news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin was "beneath the office of the President," former Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday.
"I think the press conference was beneath the office of the President. And I think it did us great damage internationally," Biden said in a town hall on democracy in Colombia. "I have never seen such behavior from a President of the United States on an international forum that diminishes the United States as I saw in that press conference with Vladimir Putin, who I know well."
Biden praised Republican colleagues who have criticized Trump and the news conference.
"I was proud to see, finally, some of my Republican colleagues who you cover finally beginning to speak out about some of the outrageous things that are being said and done," Biden added.
