The Lebanon varsity swimming teams split a pair of dual meets last week against Corvallis and Churchill.
Competing in the Spartans’ home pool at Osborn Aquatic Center on Tuesday, Jan. 15, the Warrior boys won 10 of the 11 events to take a 156-119 victory. The Warrior girls also won, 156-125.
Lebanon then hosted Churchill on Thursday, Jan. 17. The Lancers won both duals, with the boys taking a 99-71 victory and the girls winning 101-68.
Against Corvallis, three Warrior boys won multiple events. Jonathan Yordy topped the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events; Nico Barbafiera won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke; and Drew Charley took first in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke.
The Warrior girls were led by Isabella Ayala, who topped the 200 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Elizabeth Beck also won two events, claiming the 100 butterfly and the 100 freestyle.
The Churchill meet was a good test against a top squad from the Midwestern League. Charley once again came away with two victories, winning the 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley.
Beck had the only individual victory for the Warriors in the girls meet, topping the 500 freestyle. Lebanon also came away with the victory in the 400 freestyle relay.
Lebanon was scheduled to host West Albany in a dual meet on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
