Lebanon head coach Mardy Benedict led his squad to the Mid-Willamette Conference title this season.

The Lebanon girls varsity basketball team ended the regular season with a 14-game winning streak and sole possession of first place in the Mid-Willamette Conference standings.

The Warriors are 20-3 overall with a 15-1 league mark. The Warriors' only league loss was in their opening game of the conference slate at Corvallis. The Spartans won that game 42-40.

The Warriors avenged that loss with a 55-36 home victory on Jan. 25.

Lebanon entered the final week of the regular season with a one-game lead over Silverton, which finished the year 20-3, 14-2 in league.

The Warriors took care of business, defeating visiting Crescent Valley 63-54 and then winning at North Salem 61-48.

This is the first outright conference title for Warriors coach Mardy Benedict, who joined the program in 1991.

The Warriors are currently ranked third in the OSAA 5A power rankings behind Wilsonville and Springfield. Lebanon will host a state playoff game, but the date, time and opponent have not yet been announced.
