Oregon State gets its final warmup for the Pac-12 wrestling championship meet when it travels to Columbus, Ohio, for the National Duals tournament Sunday and Monday.
The 14-team bracketed tournament includes 10 ranked schools, notably top-10 programs Minnesota, Cornell and Oklahoma.
OSU, ranked 25th and 30th in the two major national polls, takes on No. 16/42 Virginia Tech in the first round at noon. The winner meets No. 4/6 Cornell in the quarterfinals.
Virginia Tech defeated Oregon State, 20-15, in Corvallis last season.
No. 4/10 Oklahoma is also in the Beavers’ half of the bracket. No. 1/3 Minnesota is in the other half.
OSU has faced both teams at Gill Coliseum this season, falling 28-12 to Minnesota on Nov. 30 and 20-18 to Oklahoma on Jan. 25.
The Beavers currently have four ranked wrestlers in No. 10/11 Scott Sakaguchi at 149 pounds, No. 8/11 R.J. Pena at 157, No. 10/11 Taylor Meeks at 197 and No. 14/14 Amarveer Dhesi at heavyweight.
OSU will then have a 13-day break in its schedule before traveling to Stanford for the one-day Pac-12 meet March 2.
