The Oregon State wrestling program has added lettermen Chad Hanke and Michael Mangrum to the coaching staff for the 2014-15 season. Hanke will be a volunteer assistant coach while Mangrum will be the director of operations.
A Dayton native, Hanke had 113 career wins at 197 pounds and at heavyweight in a four-year career that concluded in 2013. He won the 2013 Pac-12 title at heavyweight, and competed at two NCAA Championships.
Mangrum was a four-time letterman and also concluded his career in 2013. A 141-pounder, he had 135 career wins, was a two-time Pac-12 champion, a four-time NCAA participant and a 2012 all-American. He is from Riverside, Washington.
Both men are 2013 OSU graduates.
The Beavers open the upcoming season at the Mike Clock Open in Forest Grove on Nov. 9, and at the Fresno State Roadrunner Open on Nov. 16.
They host Southern Oregon at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in their dual opener. The Pac-12 season starts on Nov. 23 with a 2 p.m. home dual against Arizona State. OSU will also host the Pac-12 Championships on Feb. 28, 2015.
