OSU softball: Beavers head to Utah for 3-game Pac-12 series

Oregon State opens a three-game softball set at Salt Lake City against the Utes at 5 p.m. Friday. Games follow at 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday with all three to be televised by Pac-12 Networks.

Utah (12-15, 1-7 Pac-12) has an offensive attack that features Hanna Flippen, who is hitting .424 with 21 runs, 16 RBIs and three home runs. The Utes’ top pitcher is Sammy Cordova, who has a 4-2 record and a 3.46 ERA with 31 strikeouts.

OSU (12-18, 2-5) is coming off an 8-1 win over UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday. Dani Gilmore has the top batting average among the regulars at .410 with Kori Nishitomi not far behind at .391. Gilmore also has a team-high six home runs.

In the circle, Amanda Najdek enters the series with an 8-11 record and 3.53 ERA with 80 strikeouts.

OSU leads the series, 12-10, and last year, the Beavers won two of three in Corvallis.
