Seven Sweet Home Fire & Ambulance District personnel responded around noon Wednesday to a call regarding a vehicle that had gone off Highway 20 near milepost 59 about 12 hours earlier, and that its driver had been located.
The accident happened a few miles past the Sheep Creek area east of Cascadia.
Firefighter Mike Severns said the vehicle was about 30 feet off the road, and down an embankment. A passerby had spotted the vehicle and its driver, who was believed to be in his 50s. He was alive, but could not walk up the embankment.
The man complained of back pain and was bruised. He said he had been over the embankment for about 12 hours. He was transported by ambulance to the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
Oregon State Police and the Oregon Department of Transportation also responded to the incident.
