On March 16 at about 6 a.m., officers from the Corvallis Police Department responded to the area of NW Ninth Street and NW Polk Avenue to investigate a report of five or six gun shots heard in the area.
While canvassing the area, Corvallis Regional Communication Center (CRCC) received an additional report of shots being fired in the 2800 block of NW Polk Avenue.
The first complainant was contacted and reported they had inadvertently given the wrong location, and the shots were heard in the area of NW 27th Street and NW Polk Avenue.
During a canvas of the area, officers located evidence to indicate a gun had been fired and the structure at 620 NW 27th St. had sustained damage consistent with being shot. The area is near the Oregon State University campus. Residents inside the housing structure were contacted and there were no injuries reported.
A person who had been in the area at the time of the incident reported hearing the gun shots and then seeing two males running away. The two males were described as wearing hooded sweatshirts, one brown and one red. No other suspect description was provided.
