June 5, 1940 — February 6, 2019

Wayne Cecil Rodgers, age 78, passed away from natural causes on February 6, 2019, in Philomath.

He was born in Melrose Park, Illinois, to Cecil and Gertrude Rodgers and moved to Corvallis with his family as a young child.

Wayne held many different jobs in his life but the one he loved and did for the longest, was a mover/driver for Allied.

Wayne loved fishing and spent many happy hours with his fishing buddies at the “fishing shack” on the Siletz River. He was known for being a great friend to many people and was always willing to help out others who needed his help.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Mark and Rebecca Gaynor; and children, Laurie, Kathy and Donald: He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews. He also had many long-lasting friendships including Wally, Barbara/Tom, Ronnie, Bobbie and others too numerous to list who were always there for him and he for them. Special thanks to Pastor Lucke from Peace Lutheran who stopped by and prayed with Wayne while he was in the hospital in early January and on other occasions throughout last couple years.

He was predeceased by sister, Louise Leslie; son, Stevie, and wife, Wanda.

There will be a small celebration of life for close family/friends in the upcoming months.

McHenry Funeral Home is handling arrangement.
