Mary Katherine “Katie” Keenan of Corvallis, died on January 26, 2018, at home with hospice surrounded by loving family and close friends.
Katie was born January 1, 1977, in Salem.
She graduated Sweet Home High School in 1998. Katie was active in Special Olympics for more than 20 years, and was one of the first students at SHHS to receive her letterman's jacket for participation in Special Olympics.
At the time of her death, she was employed as a Teacher's Aide at Zion Lutheran School in Corvallis. It was her dream job.
Katie faithfully attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Corvallis, and was a Eucharistic Minister.
Katie was deeply loved by her family and friends.
Katie is survived by mother Elizabeth Keenan of Sweet Home; sisters, Marilyn Keenan of Colorado, Keren (Spike) Keenan of Kings Valley, Teresa Keenan-Eoff and husband Dan Eoff of Texas, and Kara Keenan of Sweet Home; nieces and nephews Keri Keenan-Tasker and family of Halsey, Tom Keenan-Tasker of Kings Valley, Joe Keenan-Tasker of San Diego, Clinton Rupp and family of Colorado, Jason Rupp and family of Japan, and Jeremy Keenan-Kingston and family, Jacqueline Keenan-Kingston, Caroline Keenan, Catherine Keenan, Kutter Eoff and family, Kashtyn Eoff, Kannon Eoff all of Texas.
Katie’s funeral Mass was held on January 31, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Corvallis, officiated by Fr. Ignacio Llorente. Christian Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Corvallis.
Memorial contributions can be made in Katie’s name to the Oregon Special Olympics.
