Gertrude Ina Johnson, 97, of Albany, formerly of Sweet Home, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at the Mennonite Home.
She was born in Hubbard to Alvin and Barbara Ellen (Schultz) Hamilton.
She married Adolph Leonard Johnson on May 24, 1942, in Molalla. She had lived in Molalla and then settled in Sweet Home.
Gertrude was a member of the Sweet Home Mennonite Church.
She enjoyed quilting and embroidery. She was a phenomenal cook and baker. Everything she made was amazing.
Gertrude is survived by sons, Warren of Harrisburg, Delmer of Eugene, Byron of McMinnville; daughter, Beverly Knox of Harrisburg; sister, Norma Reeser of Albany; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence and Sanford Hamilton; and sister, Grace Hafdahl.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at Sweet Home Mennonite Church. Private family burial was held at Gilliland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to American Bible Society or Sweet Home Mennonite Church.
