Derrel John Dale, 76, of Lebanon, died Tuesday at his home.

Derrel was born April 13, 1942, in Webster, South Dakota, the son of Johnnie and Doris (Williams) Dale. He moved to Lebanon when he was six years old and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1960.

He married Randi M. “Renda” Engel on March 18, 1967, in Albany.

Derrel worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Wimer Logging for over 33 years and then Weyerhaeuser for one and a half years.

Derrel loved Border Collie dogs and being in the woods.

He was wonderful to his wife and sons.

Derrel is survived by his wife, Randi “Renda” Dale of Lebanon; sons, Derrel W. Dale of Albany and Glen P. Dale of Lebanon; brother, David Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters, Lois Engel of La Center, Washington and Barbara VanKleek of Hillsboro, Oregon.

His parents preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a .m. on Tuesday, May 8, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
