January 10, 1931 — December 4, 2018
Betty Claypool passed away at age 87 following a fall in her home.
Born in Garrett, Kentucky, Betty moved with her husband, Don and children to Corvallis in 1978.
She worked in the library at Franklin, Dixie and Adams elementary schools and in the Summer Library Program for several years, until she retired in 1996.
Always a prankster, Betty’s humor gained national attention when she brought umbrella hats to her water exercise class at the Corvallis Aquatic Center and the Associated Press picked up the photo. Her love and humor will be missed by friends and family alike.
The family plans a private service for her and her late husband, Don Claypool.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in memory of her.
Betty is survived by her four children; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
