Wyden to hold
town hall at LBCC
U.S. Sen Ron Wyden has scheduled a town hall meeting for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Linn-Benton Community College.
The town hall is one of two planned for that day. The first is at 10 a.m. in the Taft High School Commons in Lincoln City.
The LBCC meeting will be held in the Forum lecture hall, F-104, on the main campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W., Albany.
When first elected, the Oregon Democrat pledged to hold annual town halls in each of Oregon's counties and has since conducted 879 of the meetings.

family film night
Albany Parks & Recreation Department will show "Paddington" at 7 p.m. Friday, March 16, for Family Movie Night at Albany Community Pool, 2150 36th Ave. S.E.
Movie-goers are encouraged to bring a favorite inflatable and watch the movie while they swim. Snacks will be included.
Family cost is $12 for the first six; $2 for each additional person; $3.50 for ages 18 and under and $3.75 for those over 18.
Children under age 6 and/or using a life jacket must have an adult within reach of them in the water.

Fire District plans
Biz After Hours
LEBANON — The Lebanon Fire District will host Business After Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at 1050 West Oak St.
There will be free tacos, coffee and Italian sodas.
There will also be tours of the fire station, vehicle and equipment demonstrations, hands-on fire and emergency medical skills stations and fire engine rides.
The public can meet and greet Lebanon fire personnel.
The Lebanon Fire District provides fire protection for 134 square miles and EMS protection over 416 square miles.
There are five stations. In 2015, the Fire District staff answered 6,081 calls for service.
70th rock show
set in Sweet Home
SWEET HOME — The 70th annual Sweet Home Gem and Mineral Show will be held March 31 and April 1 at the Sweet Home High School activity gym, 1641 Long St.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is 50 cents. Children 12 and under admitted free with adult.
There will be displays by numerous rock and gem dealers, raffles and door prizes, demonstrations and a snack bar.

Square Circlers set
March 17 dance
LEBANON — The Lebanon Square Circlers club is holding a square dance, featuring the all-girl calling group Girls Night Out from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, at the Lebanon IOOF Hall, 20 E. Ash St.
Girls Night Out features callers Charlotte Jeskey, Jackie Gale, Sandy Harris and Catherine Stauffer.
A suggested donation is $5 for adults and $10 for a family of three or more. The public is invited to watch the dancing and enjoy the music for free.
