Three cougar sightings have been reported the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife in June and July.
“None of these reports were confirmed by our staff onsite,” said Michelle Dennehy of ODFW.
Cougar sightings can be difficult to comfirm, Dennehy said.
“They are solitary, reclusive creatures and don’t leave tracks unless conditions are right,” she said.
ODFW has a page on its website with safety tips, click here for more information.
“That page has all the tips,” Dennehy said. “Feeding pets indoors, keeping them in at night is the best advice.”
