"For the Love of Oregon," a photography exhibit by the Willamette PhotoArts Guild celebrating the state and Oregon State University's contributions to it, will be shown Nov. 3 through Dec. 8, in the Giustina Gallery at the LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26th St., Corvallis.

A reception and awards presentation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The exhibit commemorates OSU's 150th anniversary as a land grant institution by focusing on the beauty and diversity that makes Oregon special, and calling attention to OSU's research, education and extension programs.

The more than 80 black-and-white and color photographs in the show depict a variety of subjects familiar to Oregonians, including rolling wheat fields and hillside vineyards, crashing waves and soaring bridges, snow-covered rangelands and ancient forests, counter-culture fairs and political protests.

The Willamette Valley PhotoArts Guild was formed more than 30 years ago to promote and support fine art photography in the mid-valley and has been an affiliated guild of the Corvallis Arts Center since 1988. This is the 10th in its series of biennial expositions at the LaSells Stewart Center that explore the photogenic possibilities in our own backyards and beyond.

The reception and awards presentation are free to attend. The LaSells Stewart Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and evenings during scheduled events.
