The Corvallis School District Theater, under the direction of Cindy Preece and assistant director Erin Cunningham, will perform the play "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the First Christian Church of Corvallis, 602 SW Madison Ave. A free dinner will be served in McLean Hall at 5 p.m.

The one-act play, written by Celeste Raspanti, will be performed by an all youth cast. It is based on the true story of Raja Englanderova, a child survivor of Terezín, a Jewish ghetto in Czechoslovakia established by the Nazis. The play uses drawings and poems by the children of Terezín to showcase the power of hope and resilience.

The show is about 40 minutes long and is suitable for audiences fifth grade and older.

A donation will be collected during dinner and after the play. All donations will go to support the new Beit Am Jewish community building under construction.
