One of the largest prep wrestling dual tournaments in the Pacific Northwest is returning to the Linn County Expo Center.
The West Albany High wrestling program is hosting the Northwest Duals for the third consecutive year. The two-day, 36-team tournament runs Thursday and Friday in Albany.
Teams from Washington and Oregon — including Linn County’s West Albany, South Albany, Lebanon, Sweet Home and Central Linn — will be participating.
Competition is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. both days and conclude by 6 p.m.
General admission is $7 for a single day or $12 for a two-day bracelet. For students and seniors, cost is $5 for one day or $8 for the bracelet.
On Day 1, the 36 teams will be divided into six pools named after local wrestling icons Bruce Glenn, Dick Weisbrodt, Lamont Simons, Norm Davis, Brent Belveal and Jim Phillips. Each team will wrestle five duals on Thursday.
Friday’s action will feature a 16-team top bracket, a 16-team middle bracket and a four-team bottom bracket.
