ADAIR VILLAGE — Santiam Christian High shut down Lakeview and took a 46-22 win in the first round of the 3A playoffs on Friday.

The Eagles (9-2) held the Honkers to seven first downs and 19 yards rushing.

Lakeview tacked on two scores against the SC junior varsity players in the fourth quarter.

The Eagles struggled catching the ball in the passing game so they switched gears.

“We went to the ground and it was open,” SC assistant coach Bob Schroeder said.

The Eagles rolled up 384 yards on the ground. Quarterback Grant Schroeder got into the act with four touchdown runs.

Schroeder finished with 129 yards rushing and Jacob Callis had 144 on 18 carries.

The Eagles now travel to Horizon Christian.
