The Oregon State men’s basketball team has lost another big man for the season.

Daniel Gomis, a 6-foot-10 forward from Senegal, needs surgery and will miss the rest of the year.

The Beavers are already without center Angus Brandt, who suffered an ACL tear in a game against Purdue on Nov. 16.

Gomis hurt his left leg in a bad fall during practice right before the start of the season.

After getting it checked out and waiting a few weeks, it was determined that surgery would be the best option. He will go under the knife on Dec. 11.

A broken leg forced Gomis to sit out last season.

He gradually worked his way back and was practicing regularly with the team.

Now he faces more rehab work before he can get on the court next season.
