Nearly 250 cars were entered in the annual Rollin’ Oldies Car Club’s Fifties in the fall car show, held Sept. 16 at Cheadle Lake Park.
There were 236 participant cars registered and 25 host cars.
The Best of Show car was a 1958 Chevy Convertible owned by Jim and Kathy Schuette of Salem. The Best of Show truck was a 1930 Model A Ford owned by Scotty Echelberger of Springfield. Both trophies were sponsored by Batteries Northwest of Salem.
Fees collected at registration help the club fund two $1,000 scholarships to students in the automotive department at Linn-Benton Community College. The club also has sponsored medical bags ($300) for three new students at COMP-Northwest in Lebanon.
Members in the Rollin' Oldies all love classic cars. They also have a strong commitment to support charities in the Central Willamette Valley. In the past year they have donated more than $800 to local charities.
