Monday, April 15

2:14 a.m. A man was attempting to break into a car in the 1400 block of Hiatt St. An officer located an open gas tank and empty gas cans in the area. An officer spoke with a man in the area and determined he was not involved. Police were unable to find anyone involved. About $8 of gas was taken from the vehicle. An officer located another possible victim vehicle in the 300 block of Milton St.

3:24 a.m. An officer performed a business check in the 500 and 600 blocks of S. Main St.

8:28 a.m. A wallet was stolen from a purse in an apartment in the 600 block of S. 12th St. The purse contained $800 cash, a Social Security card and a driver’s license. The woman found the wallet next to the apartment Dumpster with $700 missing from it. The woman’s two children and five other people were in the apartment when the wallet was stolen.

12:34 p.m. Wheels and tires were stolen near the fence of a house in the 2700 block of Acorn St. Loss: $250.

12:48 p.m. A woman found a large duffel bag under a bench in the 2800 block of S. 10th St. An officer determined the bag was stolen. The bag contained a bowling ball and shoes. An officer returned the property to its owner.

12:55 p.m. A man was walking in the middle of the road near the intersection of Stoltz Hill and Walker rds. carrying a bottle of alcohol. An officer couldn’t find anyone matching the man’s description in the area.

1:53 p.m. A large hedge blocked the view of traffic turning off of Park Dr. to Garvord St.

3:22 p.m. A car left the roadway in the 2100 block of River Rd. and knocked down the 25 mph speed limit sign. The 1999 Lexus GS4 was towed from the scene.

3:31 p.m. A pair of Danner Boots was stolen from Wilco.

4:35 p.m. A purse was stolen from H & R Block.

6:08 p.m. A bike was stolen from a house in the 100 block of E. Elmore St. Loss: $480.

6:51 p.m. An officer gave a juvenile a free Slurpee for wearing a bike helmet in the 400 block of E. Grant St.

7:37 p.m. Kids were flying kites near power lines in the 1000 block of Kees St. One of the kids got a kite stuck in the power lines. The children had left by the time an officer arrived.

9:42 p.m. A man was striking a woman at an apartment in the 500 block of Manor Way. Police arrested the 46-year-old man for domestic harassment and transported him to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital for injuries. The woman was given contact information for the Center Against Rape & Domestic Violence Linn-Benton services.

10:19 p.m. A black sedan was in the ditch near Lowe’s Distribution Center at the intersection of Reeves Pkwy. and Hansard Ave. The car had left by the time an officer arrived in the area.

Tuesday, April 16

1:24 a.m. A 16-year-old male was given a ride home from the Tangent and S. 6th sts. to the 100 block of E. Carolina St. After an officer found the youth in violation of his curfew.

7:33 a.m. Police arrested a 50-year-old man at the intersection of S. 2nd and H sts. for theft.

9:54 a.m. A car was keyed, possibly in the Walmart parking lot. Loss: $1,000.

10:30 a.m. A woman was smoking marijuana and drinking in the 600 block of S. 12th St. in the presence of a 6-week-old baby. The woman had several outstanding warrants for her arrest. The woman was not home when an officer checked on the baby. The information was forwarded to the Department of Human Services.

10:58 a.m. Police arrested a 16-year-old female at Lebanon High School for assault.

12:05 p.m. Someone broke into a house in the 0-99 block of Market St., and hurt a dog and let it out.

12:16 p.m. A student pushed a teacher at LHS while the teacher was trying to stop the student from the leaving the room. The student cussed out the teacher. School administration and the school resource officer will continue to investigate.

12:21 p.m. A man was dragging a female along in the 3300 block of Brudell Blvd. The man and the woman he was with were in their 30s. The man was wearing a bright green safety jacket. Officers were unable to locate anyone matching the description five minutes later.

3:20 p.m. A horse trailer was stored on the street near the intersection of S. Main Rd. and W. Jadon Dr. The trailer was gone by the time police arrived.

6:05 p.m. A blue minivan drove through a neighborhood in the 3200 block of Columbine St. and placed a large pink beach ball in the front yard of a vacant house. An officer picked up the beach ball and took it the justice center for destruction. The ball had no value.

6:42 p.m. A juvenile was given a coupon for a free Slurpee in the 100 block of S. 2nd St. for wearing a helmet while riding a bike.

10:31 p.m. An officer advised a bicyclist at the intersection of W. Ash and S. 2nd sts. not to be in the trash can without permission.

Wednesday, April 17

3:32 a.m. A driver found a marijuana pipe during a traffic stop for an illegal lane change. The driver destroyed the pipe while the officer was present.

6:29 p.m. People are camping out on church property in the 0-99 block of E. Vine St. The people have been urinating and defecating on the grounds. Officers couldn’t find anyone in the area.

8:04 a.m. A woman discovered that a student at Pioneer School had some of her stolen property from the 0-99 block of W. Olive St. The student gave an officer a case of CDs. Still missing are a Portland Trail Blazer ticket stub and $7 worth of 50-cent pieces. The student was not charged.

10:04 a.m. A small child was found in the street near the intersection of W. Sherman St. and Airway Rd. The mother and father both had a case of bad food poisoning. While they were cleaning up a mess, the front door was left open. The child appeared to be cared for and both parents appeared to be shaken by the event, and assured an officer this was a one-time event. The officer determined it was not a cause for alarm.

10:16 a.m. Police arrested a 16-year-old female and 17-year-old female for shoplifting at Safeway. Both females were released to the custody of one of their parents. They also were trespassed from the store.

10:33 a.m. A battery and gas were stolen from a house in the 900 block of D St.

11 a.m. A resident reported a lot of speeding in the neighborhood in the 900 block of W. D St. between 3 and 5 p.m. when high schoolers get out of school.

12:59 p.m. A bike was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 100 block of Milton St.

5:08 p.m. A male and female were looking into vehicles and a house as they walked along the road in the 100 block of Cedar St. Officers detained two juveniles and released them after determining there was no evidence of a crime. Both juveniles were advised to leave the area because they don’t live there.

5:52 p.m. A car and bike collided with each other in the 1600 block of S. Main St. Neither the driver nor the bicyclist were injured.

5:43 p.m. Police cited and released a 23-year-old man in the 2700 block of Acorn St. for theft.

5:50 p.m. Someone was shooting a gun near Cheadle Park. An officer sat in the park and did not hear any gunshots. A man in the park said he often hears gunshots and it sounds like a .22 and is coming from houses in the county east of the park.

8:53 p.m. Someone moved the construction sign and sandbags into the middle of the road near the intersection of S. 12 and W. Sherman sts. An officer removed the sandbags from the road.

Thursday, April 18

12:06 a.m. Several people were yelling and calling each other names at the intersection of Vine and Park sts.

1:41 a.m. A woman on an older mountain bike attempted to get into a vehicle in the 100 block of E. Elmore St.

7:22 a.m. A man was staggering down Main St. near the intersection of S. Main and E. Oak sts. The man was last scene wearing brown pants and a black hoodie. Police were unable to find the man.

8:11 a.m. A man wearing a black jacket and tan pants with a stocky build and facial hair was standing on the west side of John L. Scott Real Estate and is possibly intoxicated. The man was just tired.

3:07 p.m. A student was beat up after school at LHS. The situation will be handled by school administration.

5:06 p.m. A woman reported cars parked in the fire zone at the Boys & Girls Club between 4 and 6 p.m. An officer checked the area, and all vehicles were parked legally in the loading zone and not in the fire zone.

5:07 p.m. A suspect cashed a stolen check at Walmart for $100. Loss: $125.

5:14 p.m. A woman found a syringe on the sidewalk in the 300 block of Violet St. The syringe was destroyed.

5:46 p.m. A bunch of kids were climbing on the roof at Century Park. The kids were not on the roof when an officer arrived three minutes later. People in the area didn’t see anyone on the roof.

5:46 p.m. A green Ford Explorer was sitting at the intersection of Franklin St. and Russell Dr. The vehicle had run out of gas and was straddling the fog line causing a traffic hazard. An officer assisted in pushing the vehicle up and off to the side of the road.

7:41 p.m. A man was bit by his neighbor’s dog in the 700 block of E. Oak St. An officer gave a quarantine order to the dog owner.

8:53 p.m. A woman was trying to steal something out of a yard in the 1400 block of Hiatt St.

9:09 p.m. Police arrested a 20-year-old woman at Walmart for theft.

10:28 p.m. Police arrested Rondel Allen Adams, 22, for failure to comply in a DUII case.

10:58 p.m. A bike was stolen from a house in the 100 block of S. Main St. Loss: $150.

Friday, April 19

9:01 a.m. A woman ran her car into another vehicle in the 300 block of W. Oak St. The collision caused no injuries and didn’t block the road. The 84-year-old driver was cited for unsafe passing on the right.

9:43 a.m. A landlord stopped paying the garbage bill for a house in the 0-99 block of Market St. and now garbage is overflowing. An officer believes the issue was resolved and will check again on April 22.

10:19 a.m. A small fender bender occurred in the LHS parking lot. The 16-year-old male driver of a Honda and a 17-year-old female driver of a Ford exchanged information.

11 a.m. A 17-year-old male student was hit by a pickup truck at the LHS parking lot. The student was transported to the hospital for a shoulder injury. The 18-year-old male driver was cited for reckless driving.

2:41 p.m. The Kidco Head Start bus driver reported a car did not stop for the bus lights near the intersection of S. Grove and E. Elmore sts.

3:26 p.m. Three juveniles, all younger than 12, were riding bikes without helmets near the intersection of S. 2nd and C sts. An officer spoke to the mother of two of the boys. The kids told the officer from now on, they would remember to wear their helmets.

5:22 p.m. An apartment in the 1100 block of S. 3rd St. smelled like marijuana. An officer spoke to a man at the apartment and did not find any evidence of drug use at the apartment. The man denied a consent search of the residence.

6:23 p.m. Tires and wheels were stolen off of a Dodge Durango in the 400 block of Milton St. Loss: $800.

7:30 p.m. A traffic collision occurred at the intersection of S. 5th and W. Sherman sts. and partially blocked 5th St. There were no injuries. The damage to each car was less than $1,500.

10:41 p.m. Police arrested Wilbur Leroy Tichenor, 21, at the justice center for failure to comply in a theft case.

11:18 p.m. A bike was stolen from Walmart.

Saturday, April 20

12:01 a.m. Two men were acting suspicious in the 2600 block of Acorn St. Police couldn’t locate the men. Police also did building checks in the area and everything appeared OK.

12:34 a.m. A man was yelling and screaming near the intersection of S. 2nd and E sts. He was also punching cars and garbage cans. An officer had to leave the area for another disturbance before he could find the man.

12:39 a.m. Several men and women were yelling in the area near the intersection of S. 7th and B sts. Police talked to several people who were involved in the altercation and all were intoxicated. Two people left for the night and were told not to return.

1:26 a.m. A man was possibly intoxicated on the bench in front of the grocery section at Walmart. Police asked the man to leave, and he left.

1:51 a.m. Police arrested a 26-year-old female passenger during a traffic stop at Walgreens on three warrants for DUII. The 25-year-old female driver was cited for driving while suspended. The car was left at Walgreens.

6:05 p.m. A couple of explosions were heard in the 2700 block of S. Main Rd. the powered went out in the area then came back on. A transformer blew.

7:45 a.m. Several officers attended citizens academy range day.

12:20 p.m. A mail carrier was bitten by a dog in the 100 block of Pine St. Police issued a potentially dangerous dog notice.

12:34 p.m. A wheelchair ramp was stolen from a vehicle at the Walmart parking lot. Loss: $240.

1:11 p.m. Parts of a wire fence were laying in the alley behind a house in the 500 block of E St. An officer removed the hazard.

3:04 p.m. Police arrested Shaun Vincent Carroll, 44, in the 1600 block of Main St. for failure to appear in a theft case, felon in possession of a firearm, contempt of court and a probation violation.

2:34 p.m. Two juveniles on skateboards “mooned” passing cars near Oil Can Henry’s. The juveniles were gone by the time police had arrived.

3:21 p.m. A woman didn’t pay for her haircut in the 0-99 block of Wagon Wheel Dr. An officer determined it was a civil matter.

4:34 p.m. A man came into the library with a gun in a holster on his belt. The officer spoke to the man and determined nothing criminal had happened.

4:42 p.m. A person called police to complain that his neighbor walks a dog off the leash and lets it defecate in other people’s yards. An officer was unable to speak with the dog’s owner.

7:12 p.m. A man attempted to steal groceries from Safeway. The man came back, and staff was able to recover the items.

7:16 p.m. A woman reported the lights are malfunctioning at the intersection of W. Airport Rd. and S. 2nd St. She said the lights were turning green at the same time and witnessed two collisions almost occur. An officer checked lights, which were all working correctly.

8:22 p.m. A woman reported her son missing for the past three hours from the 700 block of Isabella St. An officer located the boy at a friend’s house two hours later.

11:42 p.m. A woman found some drug paraphernalia at her house in the 100 block of Berry St. after a woman on probation stayed at the house. The resident gave an officer a broken glass marijuana pipe and an unlabeled prescription medication bottle with a small amount of marijuana in it. She also handed over an orange-colored lid with some sort of black substance smeared around the inside.

11:48 p.m. Cellphones were stolen from a car in the 700 block of W. Vine St.

Sunday, April 21

12:26 a.m. A woman left her car at the intersection of 10th St. and Vaughn Ln. and started walking eastbound on Walker Rd. The woman left her PT Cruiser parked in the middle of the road. An officer helped the woman move the vehicle closer to the curb, and she was given a courtesy ride to a motel. The car’s battery had died.

3:43 a.m. An 18-year-old man was intoxicated in Walmart. Police cited the man for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption. Police also gave the man a courtesy ride home.

11:57 a.m. A syringe was lying near a bush in the 100 block of N. 8th St. An officer located and destroyed the syringe.

12:33 p.m. Items were stolen from Walmart. Loss: $43.

3:31 p.m. A juvenile was driving a go-cart in the 1000 block of B Loop and wasn’t wearing a helmet. The go-cart was put away by the time an officer arrived.

5:56 p.m. A woman in a PT Cruiser was “freaking out,” near the intersection of Franklin and Milton sts. It appeared that the vehicle had broken down. And officer assisted the woman with moving the car out of the roadway and called a tow company. The woman left with with the car when it was towed.

6:22 p.m. Police arrested a 46-year-old man at Safeway for failure to appear in a disorderly conduct case and failure to appear in a criminal trespassing case.

8:47 p.m. Police arrested a 17-year-old female for shoplifting at Walmart.

10:16 p.m. A man broke the window at Umpqua Bank then yelled at passers-by and kicked over a garbage can. The man keeps walking back and forth across Grant St. The man has a shirt wrapped around the arm he used to break the window. The 25-year-old man was cited and released at the justice center for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

11:49 a.m. A cow in a small enclosure has not been let out or cleaned up in several months in the 200 block of Fir Ln.

Tuesday, April 16

3:55 p.m. A caller reported that his neighbors are “higher than a kite and are going bananas” in the 36100 block of Airport Rd. There are two people in the house who do not live there, the renter is not home.

Wednesday, April 17

1:43 p.m. Several all-terrain vehicles have been going through town in the 31100 block of 4th St. in Waterloo. They usually run for about an hour.

Thursday, April 18

12:19 p.m. A woman was trying to break into the shed in the 30100 block of Horseshoe Lp.

4:58 p.m. Three juveniles were jumping out on the road in front of cars, making cars swerve to miss them in the 31900 block of Hidden Valley Rd. They were last seen heading toward Lebanon on Berlin Rd.

Sunday, April 21

8:27 a.m. A goat, a pig and sheep were loose on the road in the 33500 block of Brewster Rd.
