Bob Burroughs, 78, of Albany died Tuesday at his home.
Born in Inglewood, California to Royal and Marguerite (Schreiber) Burroughs, Bob lived in El Monte until entering the Navy and serving during the Vietnam Era. Upon his discharge he worked for Certified Grocers in Los Angeles, and then managed a bowling alley in Ontario, California.
Bob moved to Albany and worked for Roth’s IGA for 30 years and then Ray’s North Albany Market for seven years, retiring at 70 years old.
Bob volunteered his time and artistic talents at St. Mary’s School and church for many years. He had a passion for helping those in need as well as creating art and sharing it with others.
Bob married Linda Gevaudan in 1976 in Ontario, California. She survives, as do sons, Ron (Chris), Russ (Crystal), Rich (Kris), and David (Sabrina); daughter, Kristyn; and grandchildren, Darrel (Heather), Wade (Breanna), Nikki (Jason), Darla (Lawrence), Natalie, Connor, Chloe, Kendall, and Matthew.
A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 16, at Albany St. Mary’s Catholic Church with reception to follow. Private inurnment will be at Willamette Memorial Mausoleum.
