Jan. 18, 1920 - June 19, 2013

Lily “Lucille” Cooper, 93, of Sodaville, died June 19, 2013, at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House in Albany.

A funeral service was held at the Sodaville Evangelical Church. Burial followed at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon.

She was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Hartshorne, Okla., to Charles and Mary (Simmons) New.

Her mother died when she was 6. She moved to Colorado, where she was raised by her grandparents. 

She married Nyal Cooper on Aug. 5, 1938, in Cotopaxi, Colo.

The couple moved to Oregon.

In 1944, they bought a farm in Sodaville. 

She attended Sodaville Evangelical Church.

She taught Bible studies. She worked with Child Evangelism.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Warren Cooper and Rose Anne, and Iran Cooper and Ruth, all of Lebanon; daughters Lillian Train, of Lebanon, and Aleita Bailey, of St. Helens; daughter and son-in-law Alice Hensley and Arlin, of Sweet Home; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband Nyal Cooper died on May 25, 1989; brother Charles New in 1986; and sister Bessie Mae Hendricks died on June 13, 2013.
