Lorene J. Reed, 90, of Lebanon passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at the Lebanon Veterans Home.
Lorene was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Alfred and Ada (Moore) Fritz. She moved with her family from Kansas to Southern California in the mid-1930s where she lived for many years. In the late 1950s she moved to Sonora, California, where she lived for over 20 years. She lived in Fairfield, California, until moving to Lebanon 10 years ago.
Lorene was a writer and a talented artist who enjoyed painting landscapes, portraits and animals. She also enjoyed gardening and watching the wild birds. She attended the Lebanon First Baptist Church.
Lorene married Ralph Bowen in the late 1940s. He preceded her in death in 1972. She later married Art Reed in the early 1980s. He preceded her in death in 1982. She married Lorell Smith on Nov. 3, 2012.
She is survived by her husband, Lorell of Lebanon; daughters Nancy Hunt of Lebanon and Barbara Gallegos of Anderson, California; son John Bowen of Weaverville, North Carolina; sister Beverly Davis of Spokane, Washington; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Lebanon First Baptist Church (intersection of Grove and Vine Streets in Lebanon).A graveside service and burial will be at Mountain Shadow Cemetery in Sonora, California.
