Lebanon lost a very active volunteer when Lillian J Booze died on June 8, 2016 in Paradise, California.
She was born on June 7, 1920 to Hanry Hanson and Rosa (Early) Hanson in Cowlitz County, Washington.
Lillian worked for Van Ply in Vancouver, Washington during WWII and after the war moved to Lebanon in August 1949 when she married Melvin R Booze.
She worked for F. L. Snyder and Sons, Albany for 37 years as the bookkeeper and retired in 2001 at the age of 81.
Lillian lived in Lebanon from 1949 until 2015 when she moved to Paradise, California to be near her daughter.
She volunteered in the American Legion Auxiliary, Lebanon, Post #51. She moved up through the ranks of the organization, holding positions as Chaplain, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and served as President many times. She represented the State of Oregon at the National Convention. She was an active member in Eight and Forty as well.
She is survived by daughter Bonnie Booze Peery; brother Bill Sterner; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Melvin; daughter Cathie Wade; and son Kenneth Booze.
As was her wish, there were no services. She was buried with Melvin Booze and his father, Bud Booze at IOOF Cemetery in Lebanon.
