Leslie Helen Davies Berg, former Albany resident, died November 29, 2017 in Silverdale, Washington.

She was born June 6, 1925 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Earl and Helen Smith Davies.

Leslie attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where she met and married Richard H. Berg. Together, they raised four daughters.

An accomplished vocalist, Leslie sang with local music groups and directed church choirs for most of her adult life. For 25 years, she taught elementary music in the Portland Public Schools where she introduced children to music, drama and creative self-expression.

Leslie was loving, talented and dedicated to her family. She loved her life, and was cherished by everyone around her.

She is survived by daughters, Kristen (Steve) Schuttpelz, Jennifer (Mark Rooper), and Andrea Berg; sister Janet (Chuck) Betts; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1994; and daughter, Leslie (Rudy) Lachenmeier in 1998.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on January 20, 2018 at the United Presbyterian Church in Albany.

Memorial donations may be made to the Guthrie and Jenks Music Scholarship at the Benton Community Foundation.
