Oct. 3, 1943 – June 29, 2017

Charles Allen Gilliam, 73, of Albany passed away June 29 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.

Chuck was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas to parents O. H. “Jack” and Creda Gilliam.

Chuck worked as a contractor for many years. His clients appreciated his detailed craftmanship.

Chuck was an avid Oregon State Beaver fan and enjoyed reading about WWII history.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of 57 years; daughter Traci (Rod) Quigley of Scio, son Steve (Shellene) Gilliam of Sweet Home, daughter Kelly (Chris) Arthur of Albany; daughter Lisa (Scott) Whitney of Albany, daughter Stephanie (Brian) DeLess of Harrisburg; and 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and sisters Sharon Acker of Salem and Jean Dodson of Lebanon.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bud and sisters Bess and Marilyn.

At Chuck’s request, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Evergreen Hospice House.
