COMP-Northwest student Erin Gray, 26, will spend her first three days of classes in Moscow.

While her classmates are studying in lecture halls in Lebanon, the second-year College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific Northwest student will be competing in a 20-kilometer race walk at the world track and field championships in Moscow on Aug. 13.

“I’m really excited. Gray said. "I’ve never been to a track and field event this huge before. I’m super excited to go to Moscow, and represent Team USA, and at least indirectly COMP-Northwest,” Gray said.

Gray placed second in the 20-kilometer walk at the USA Track and Field outdoor national championships in Des Moines, Iowa with a time of 1 hour, 39 minutes and 19 seconds on June 22.
