Singer-songwriter Bill Staines will perform 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Martha Room at the First United Methodist Church, 1165 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis. The concert is sponsored by the Corvallis Folklore Society.
Staines, who has toured and played concerts for over 40 years, continues to perform more than 175 shows a year. He has 26 recordings to his credit, including two award-winning children's albums ("The Happy Wanderer" and "One More River"). Staines has written more than 300 songs, many of which have appeared on television series and in feature films, and have been recorded by artists Peter, Paul and Mary, Makeem and Clancy, Nancy Griffith and more.
On stage, Staines has been called an intimate and compelling performer, who always invites audiences to sing along and provides an entertaining blend of storytelling with song.
Pacific Northwest folk duo Mike and Carleen McCornack will open the concert.
