Linn-Co Federal Credit Union will recognize International Credit Union Day on Oct. 15 in their offices across the county.

On Oct. 15, offices will have free donuts, hot cider, balloons for customers. Door prizes at each office in Lebanon, Albany and Sweet Home will be given out throughout the day.

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial organizations that provide an alternative to for-profit financial institutions.

Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated each October.

This year's theme is "Your Money. Your Choice. Your Credit Union."

In 2009, Linn-Co marked 53 years of service to the county.
